Vintage Toy: 1983 Smurf Remote Control Toy Car
100tos#1780: This adorable SMURF remote control toy car is considered rare. It has 2 wires that connect from the car to the battery container that uses a "C" cell battery. The wires are approximately 43 inches long and the controller/battery box is about 2 3/4" making the distance about 45 inches. This battery box cylinder has a red paper illustration of SMURFS and a © 1983 PEYO and 2 buttons on the top to select forward or backward. The SMURF ii blue with a white cap and is sitting in the car - inside black w/black steering wheel - which is entirely red, even the black wheels have red hubcaps. The body is joined to a grey base which includes the front and back fenders. The front fender part includes the radiator style front with round hanging lights (like a Model T). The grey base has the company info and holds onto the red body by 2 phillips screws. The back wheels drive the car by a white gear. The car is 4.75" x 3.25" and 4" tall; weight 5.40 ounces. We did not have a "C" cell battery to test this toy and we will not supply one. This toy car was in working condition the last time we had a battery altho we cannot guarantee that now. This SMURF car is in excellent condition overall. The white hat has a few slight dings where paint is missing or torn but you have to look hard to see this. Own a real toy from the past!
